GOOD to GO started as a love letter to Hong Kong, the eclectic city that nurtured us. As we face waves of societal change, it became clear to us that our identities are more than fishballs and sanpans – Hongkongers were caught between worlds, but they bridge the gaps with their wit, resourcefulness and unrelenting spirit.
With every story, we invite you to look beyond the glamour of skyscrapers and harbourviews, and experience first-hand the soul of everyday Hong Kong.
Who am I...
I’m Donald, an excitable Hongkonger who’s finding his path in the Pearl of the East. I’ve been in quite a mess of roles in my 20s – journalist, marketer, sex-ed advocate… what’s constant is my passion for storytelling and culture-bridging.
Since 2023, I’ve been accompanying 300+ tourists in their exploration of Hong Kong hidden gems. The lesson I learnt was that while main attractions are stunning and all, people still crave for down-to-earth, genuine connections with the land they travel. My guests were fascinated by the good, but also the bad, the weird, and the oddly comforting.
This is why I started GOOD to GO. I wanted to introduce travellers to smaller but fascinating things they might’ve missed under the glamour. I wanted to give honest, local perspectives on happenings in the city. I also wanted to be a know-it-all without being overly obnoxious (with limited success apparently).

What does GOOD to GO mean?
GOOD to GO is a readiness to move out, and a play on the Cantonese phrase 好去處 (good places to visit). That’s what we’re aiming for – to create easy-to-read guides and ready-made travel plans that take you into the literal and figurative heart of Hong Kong.
Just like our logo, we compile stories and curate experiences so that you are good to go enjoy your stay in Hong Kong.
